Smelter Process Water Pump House Redesign

BESTECH played a key role in the complete redesign of a client’s smelter process water pump house and booster pump house. Our work included the installation of new pump systems with VFD controls and a full revamp of the power distribution system. Through our expertise in PLC and HMI programming, as well as our leadership in commissioning and construction management, we delivered a project that enhanced both the efficiency and control of the pump house operations.

The client required a comprehensive redesign of their smelter process water pump house and booster pump house. The primary objectives included upgrading the pump systems and revamping the power distribution system to improve operational efficiency and control.

BESTECH was responsible for the entire redesign, which involved installing two priming pumps and six VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) controlled 350 hp primary pumps. Additionally, our team undertook the complete redesign and installation of the power distribution system. We also handled the programming of the programmable logic controller (PLC) and human-machine interface (HMI) and led the commissioning and construction management for the project.

Key Features:

  • Installation of advanced pump systems with VFD controls for enhanced efficiency.
  • Comprehensive redesign of the power distribution system.
  • Programming of PLC and HMI for improved operational control.
  • Leadership in commissioning and construction management to ensure project success.

The redesign of the smelter process water pump house significantly improved the efficiency and control of the pumping and power distribution systems. BESTECH’s involvement in the project ensured that the client’s objectives were met with advanced technical solutions and effective project management.
