Prodigy Gold
Prodigy Gold needed a comprehensive system to track compliance with their environmental, indigenous, and regulatory commitments associated with their Magino Mine operations.
This was essential to ensure ongoing adherence to all obligations and to facilitate a smooth transition as the mine moved from construction to operational phases and underwent changes in ownership.
SCOPE
While Prodigy Gold was in the process of evaluating software solutions for compliance tracking, FROSKR developed an interim solution by setting up an Excel-based inventory. This inventory cataloged all environmental, indigenous, and regulatory commitments related to the Magino Mine, and it was designed to be easily transferable to any chosen software system in the future. FROSKR also conducted an internal audit using this inventory to assess current compliance levels, prioritize findings, and assist in the development of action plans to address any gaps and ensure full compliance with all of Prodigy Gold’s commitments.
OUTCOME
The internal audit and the establishment of the Excel-based inventory provided Prodigy Gold with a prioritized roadmap for addressing compliance issues. This was particularly valuable for existing and onboarding employees as the mine transitioned more fully into its operational phase and prepared for a change in ownership from Argonaut to Alamos in mid-2024.
The systematic approach to tracking and auditing compliance not only prepared the mine for these transitions but also ensured that Prodigy Gold could maintain continuous compliance with its varied commitments, thereby enhancing operational integrity and stakeholder confidence.
