Converting an OSB Plant to a Wood Pelletizer Facility
BESTECH was tasked with converting an OSB plant into a wood pelletizer facility for EAD in Wawa, Ontario. Our role involved civil and structural engineering for the new facility, including the design of new structures and refurbishing existing buildings. This project effectively repurposed an existing facility to contribute to sustainable energy production.EAD required the conversion of an existing OSB plant into a wood pelletizer facility in Wawa, Ontario, necessitating comprehensive civil and structural engineering solutions to refurbish and adapt existing structures, as well as to design new elements.
BESTECH undertook this ambitious project, providing all civil and structural engineering services. Our role encompassed detailed engineering, design for refurbishing existing buildings and foundations, and the creation of new structures. We also extended our expertise in field engineering and construction assistance throughout the project.

- Foundation and enclosure design for the pellet mill.

Completed between 2014 and 2015, this conversion project not only repurposed an existing facility but also significantly contributed to the sustainable energy sector. BESTECH’s involvement ensured the successful transformation of the plant with enhanced efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability.
