BESTECH completed a pre-feasibility study for the underground mine infrastructure that would be required to develop the new Anglo American Sakatti Mine.
The mine systems included in the study were:
• Power distribution
• Infrastructure to support Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) fleet
• Communication infrastructure and data management
• System automation and remote control
• Main mine dewatering system
• Ore and waste transport up the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) decline
As part of the pre-feasibility report cost estimates, proposed project schedule, and supporting drawings were provided.
The scope of work on Battey Electric Vehicles included the following:
• Reviewing battery sizing based on equipment requirements
• Quantifying charging requirements
• Reviewing potential charging philosophies
• Provide required power demand for the distribution system
• Review localized cooling requirements
