Your role as Project Controls Coordinator

Job summary

Reporting to the Manager of the Project Management Office, the Project Controls Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining and reporting project information as well as  support the execution team for various projects and clients. They will maintain planned and actual cost and commitment schedules, and in conjunction with the Project Manager, oversee variations and revisions to existing budgets, scope, schedule, and costs.  This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a willingness to work as part of a team to successfully deliver projects. 


Your key accountabilities

  • Update and maintain project budgets for multiple project portfolios, including but not limited to, earned value management, change management, progress measurement, and cash flow projections.
  • Produce and organize project cost reporting.
  • Assist with managing account receivables on projects.
  • Management of project invoicing.
  • Project forecasting.
  • Project schedule development and updates.
  • Attend project meetings both remote and in-person. Develop, review and issue meeting minutes.
  • Support projects through all phases, including the proposal development.
  • Manage project set-ups and project reporting within ERP system.
  • Interface with other groups inside and outside the organization, including Project Managers, clients and vendors.
  • Carry out other Project Controls duties as assigned from time to time to support the business requires.
  • Support department initiatives.

Qualifications

  • A diploma in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline, or equivalent project-related experience is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with project teams/project managers in a cost reporting or controlling function, is considered an asset.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) designation as asset.
  • Knowledge of project management principles.
  • Experience within the operation of a formal Project Management Office (PMO) is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience of ERP systems.
  • Solid working knowledge of MS Office Suites (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project).
  • Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, business writing, electronic communications and presentations.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and work well with others to achieve group results.
  • Experience working within a larger multi-discipline project as asset.

Type or Salary Range

Full-Time, Permanent (40 hours/week)
