Your role as Manager, Automation Services

Job summary

As the Manager of Automation Engineering Services, you will report directly to the President and play a pivotal role in leading and managing our automation services division. You will be the driving force behind the team’s success, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and fostering a positive, growth-oriented culture. Your key accountabilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of a high-performing and engaged automation team.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the automation team, ensuring alignment with overall company goals and growth initiatives.
  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality automation solutions across a variety of projects, ensuring adherence to regulatory and client standards, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on business development, growth opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Play a key role in the recruitment and retention of top talent, developing a culture of excellence, engagement, and diversity.
  • Promote continuous learning and professional development within the team.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Mentor and coach team members to ensure professional growth and peak performance.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of division-specific processes and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize operational costs and report deviations to senior management.
  • Oversee financial performance of projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and profitability tracking.
  • Perform design tasks when needed for projects.
  • Travel to other office locations or client sites as required.
  • Prioritize safety in all project undertakings.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Electrical, Mechatronics or Computer Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in process control and automation, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role within the consulting industry.
  • Proven track record of managing and growing teams, with a focus on mentorship, development, and retention.
  • Strong business acumen with experience in strategic planning, business development, and operational leadership.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is considered an asset.

Type or Salary Range

$105,000 - $160,000
